Yixing Plastic offers bright chrome plated plastic solutions using environmentally friendly trivalent chrome plating chemistry (RoHS Compliant). Our process delivers equivalent appearance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance as traditional hexavalent chrome plating — without the environmental concerns.

Plateable Plastic Resins

ABS is the most commonly used resin for chrome plating plastic applications due to its ease of plating and ability to provide a smooth, consistent plated surface finish.

Decorative Bright Chrome Plating Process

Electroless Nickel Layer – Apply initial electroless nickel plating layer, 20–40 micro-inches (0.5–1.0 µm) onto all surfaces to make the part conductive for electroplating.
Copper Deposition – Copper is deposited with thickness ranging from 400–1000 micro-inches (10–25 µm).
Nickel Deposition – Nickel is deposited with thickness ranging from 320–800 micro-inches (8–20 µm). We also deposit duplex nickel to meet automotive exterior requirements.
Trivalent Chromium – Trivalent chromium is deposited to 4–10 micro-inches (0.1–0.25 µm).
